The Uffing Museum of Local History combines contemporary art and local history. In addition to tools from crafts and agriculture along with individual items relating the history of the small village on the shore of the Staffelsee Lake, this historical museum also exhibits works by local artists several times a year. This is a combination that unites the old and the new as well as offering an opportunity for cultural exchange.
The building in which the small museum displays its rarities, also has its own story to tell. The old firehouse, built just after World War II, became home to the historical, yet everyday events of this picture-perfect location. A model depicting the village around the year 1706 is a special treasure to be found in the collection. Although there has been tremendous development since that time, Uffing has not lost its charming village character.
